Leeds charity awarded hundreds of pounds in funding boost from TalkTalk
- Leeds-based charity, Joanna Project, has been awarded £800 from TalkTalk’s Future Fibre Fund for its commitment to helping women facing complex disadvantages
- TalkTalk launched its latest initiative to help local women-led charities succeed as its full fibre packages become more widely available across Leeds and Greater Manchester
Joanna Project, a Leeds-based charity that helps women facing complex disadvantages, has been awarded an £800 donation from TalkTalk’s Future Fibre Fund to help purchase new technology for their Support Workers.
The connectivity provider’s latest Future Fibre Fund initiative saw a total of £5,000 donated to women-led and founded charities across Leeds and Greater Manchester to help them continue their exceptional work.
TalkTalk selected the Joanna Project because of the charity’s ongoing dedication to improving the wellbeing of women by providing sanctuary for those involved, or at risk of being, in sex work. Through practical and emotional support, as well as befriending and mentoring, Joanna Project aims to help women in difficult circumstances create a new life.

With this opportunity we will continue to strive for excellence when serving women in our community and thanks to TalkTalk we now have the tech to make that happen!"

TalkTalk aims to empower more women in the technology sector through various initiatives, including its annual North West Women in Tech awards – providing a platform to recognise and applaud the outstanding contributions of inspirational women, a partnership with the University of Salford and UA92, in addition to internal colleague networks and mentoring.
