TalkTalk Full Fibre customers can now use their Amazon Echo Dot as a Wi-Fi extender
New tech software update from eero, an Amazon company, allows TalkTalk Full Fibre customers to use their Amazon Echo as a Wi-Fi extender at no extra cost.
Monday 22nd April: Thanks to a free eero software upgrade, TalkTalk, the UK’s largest value connectivity provider, has announced that its Full Fibre customers can now use select Amazon Echo smart speakers** to extend Wi-Fi coverage into a hard-to-reach rooms at no extra cost.
This means customers can enjoy more value from their Amazon Echo smart speakers, with the ability to extend their Wi-Fi coverage into another room without having to purchase additional equipment. Ideal for parents who want to improve the connectivity of baby monitors or entertainment fans who want to stream films and TV shows in 4K or HD in a room with an intermittent Wi-Fi signal.
The software feature, called eero Built-in, is available for select Amazon Echo smart speakers** and enables compatible devices to boost Wi-Fi coverage by up to 1,000 sq. ft., and supports speeds of up to 100Mb/s for ten or fewer connected devices. For greater Wi-Fi coverage that blankets the whole house in connectivity for 75+ devices, TalkTalk Full Fibre customers can add Total Home Wi-Fi*** to their broadband package for a small fee each month.

It’s simple to activate too. TalkTalk customers with compatible devices can enable eero Built-in via the eero app in just a few taps. After downloading the eero app, customers should follow the on-screen instructions to sign in and can then link their Echo device to the app, enabling the Wi-Fi extending functionality. Full instructions can be found on the eero website.
